In private messages, when a user replies to a private message, and the original message is quoted, the email contains the actual [quote] & [/quote] tags. Is there a way to have these tags replaced in the email, so it displays the same way it is viewed online. I can forward an actaul sample to you if you wish.

[devil's advocate] what if the recipients can't (or won't) allow HTML in their email? [/devils' advocate] I think this is an interesting point though. Somehow the module would have to replace the [quote] tags with actual HTML?

Good Question. I just set my Outlook Express to "Read All Messages as Plain Text" and then forward from PM one of the messages. It comes out nicely formated, but still with the [QUOTE] tags... I don't know how other mail readers handle it, but i have not received any complaints as of yet. :)

Quote tags are not html and are placeholders for the viewer inside PM, not sure how would you would group this in a plain text scenario ?

Scott, From my test in Outlook Express, OE removed all the HTML tags can converts it to plain text. So the HR tags I have in my template, are converted to dashes --------------------------------- So on the Message send (to email), could you scan for [QUOTE] & [/QUOTE] and replace with something else, like HR, or better yet: ---- Original Message ----
