Accept blog/article posts from tools like Blogjet, FeedDemon and others by supporting one of the popular blog posting APIs. The most popular blog posting APIs are:
- Blogger 2.0 API - MetaWeblog API - Movable Type posting API
Support for the Blogger 2.0 API looks like it would solve this nicely. http://www.blogger.com/developers/api/documentation20.html

This would help solve the problems I've been having with Firefox deleting the article I was typing at the moment. A lot of times I spend over 30 minutes typing an elaborate aritcle, only to have it wiped out when I try to submit it. An external tool will help with this problem.

I would add that this might open up the possibility of posting to News Articles using the Performancing extension for Firefox - which, in my opinion, would absolutely rock.

Blogger has scrapped the version 2.0 API and moved to developing Atom instead, so I would suggest targeting a different API (either MetaWeblog, Blogger 1.0, Movable Type, or Atom).

I'd love to have any API integration. I've been eyeing the Performancing for firefox plugin and Qumana editor as well.

BlogJet, Performancing and now the new Microsoft Live Writer provide enhanced writing interfaces for blogs that support the Metaweblog API (WordPress, Blogger, MSN Spaces, etc.) . The MetaWeblog API seems like the easy choice and there is now asp.net example code for it.
Please consider implementing this feature next, thanks!

Here is a good article on CodeProject about MetaWeblog API:
http://www.codeproject.com/useritems/MetaWeblogAPI.asp
It looks like a webservice using XML-RPC.

There are 3rd party modules that have these capabilities, a community edition of metaPost can be found on snowcovered and is tailored to LiveWriter and directly post's to NA

Please - native Windows Live Writer support (e.g. without having to use metaPost) would be GREAT!
Looking forward to it!
