It would be great to have automatically linked articles, e.g. by concordance of most frequently used words.

I am imagining this as a "See Also" list of links underneath the article text.

I concur - have suggested something a little more indepth relating to ActiveForums but this too would be good.

Have also raised one relating to Related Pages - essentially for something like this, but implemented as something which could be done using DNN search functionality to include content outside of NewsArticles.

Would like to see the top 4 or 5 related articles at the bottom of the page. A column of key words could be stored with each article, and those key words could be used to search the content of the other articles. And MattM has a good suggestions also.

The approach for this is to add tagging feature. Please see this link for details. http://www.ventrian.com/Support/FeedbackCenter/tabid/265/fbType/View/FeedbackID/542/Return/MyFeedback/Default.aspx
Kindly vote for the tag clouds feature.

This is an excellent addition to have. Having a number of articles that are related is quite critical to lead the reader to the next bit.
This is how I like to use it. I make an article and I post it today. 10 days later, i post another one and this is related to the original article. When I am writing the article I want to have a box that says
Add URLs of related articles.
I then add the a link of the original article here. Then say post.
Now what happens is that at the bottom of this article there will be a section called related articles (controlled by a template), which lists this article. Also in the original article, a link to my new article appears. This should be automatically handled. All I have to do is so indicate that this new article is related to an old one, and the old one gets related to this automatically.
Now if I go and press edit on the original article, the related box simply shows the URL of my later article. I can modify this list as I could when I was creating a whole new article.
Of course an addition to this, is to make it easier when URLs are entered. For example show a combo box of all articles with their title and I just select the articles I like to add as related.
I think this should be fairly straightforward to implement. You, see, We dont want to give you too much trouble.

What about next/previous article in category - rather than have to tell each article what is related, how about showing links to next/previous articles in the same category?

Hi Scott, Is this still on your to do list? I have not see your comment on this enhancement for along time I do really need this for my project .. I saw a post in the forum someone made a custom module for Related Article but I dont want to risk the incompatability when upgrade etc..

Excellent point, considering this and tag cloud to be the same (or related), combine votes for both (#1 priority?), and use tags (plus categories) to recognize related, perhaps prioritize by access count?

I would like to see this implemented in 2 parts. In the New Article editor you add related items, e.g. links to other pages, articles, websites, allowing for item name, url sort order, etc. Then in a separate modle, like News Articles Latest, you show related items for the articleID in the URL. This gives me more flexibility in showing items on the page. And of course, templated for maximum flexibility.

I think you can mark this one as implemented with the release of News Articles version 7.54.
