I'd like to see a module that provides a clean and SIMPLE way for users to do the following:
- Create a Template/Stationary (their header/footer)
- Create a Newsletter based on a template
- View Previous Newsletters
- Resend Newsletters
- Opt-in/Out Functionality
- A mailing list separate from the registered users
- Option to include registered users
- Option to append additional email addresses
- Option for HTML or Plain Text

I would love for this to be a module. My requests would be to focus on the actual email management part first such as optin/optout, email queing, scheduling, etc. And I would like for it to work like any professional email list where it can automatically add a footer with custom text & links to subscribe or unsubscribe.
I would also like there to be an easy API function call where I can call simpleEmail(...) from another module like the DNN SendNotification except that it also allows you to schedule emails and also logs all email transactions in an admin interface.

I would also like to see the newsletter & email management be separate modules. So SimpleNewsletter & SimpleEmailManager. The SimpleEmailManager would handle all the subscribe\unsubscribe\email queing & scheduling & email list management. And have an admin interface to see all previously sent emails and emails scheduled to be sent.
The SimpleNewsletter would handle the creation & archiving of newsletter content. This way the SimpleNewsletter, NewsArticles (there is a feedback request for News Articles email subscriptions) and any other module could both "plug-in" to the SimpleEmailManager.

This would be a great module to add to the ten you have already. I have been looking for a good, straight-forward opt in / out module for a while. There is one for DNN that is open source already at http://www.makisoftware.com/dnn/YAPEmailManager.aspx but the progress has been slow and it is still in beta. Some of the features look nice, though. Key features for me would be to allow both registered and anonymous users to opt in / out. Not everyone likes to have to register just to be put on an email list. Also, a features where they could manage their entire list to see all of the different lists they have opted in to would be nice.

DNN-Modules.com has a good one of this, but it is not as simple or well done as a Scott module. I would LOVE to see this.

there would also be a lot of power tying this to the News Article module for newsletter display, content, etc.
