The next version of property agent will contain geocoding, support ordering results by distance and mapping on the property detail page.

The attached image shows a new section on the edit property form where you can search any text and have a map returned. The map will contain the latitude and longitude that will be saved with the property.

The latitude and longitude will be used to generate a map on the property detail screen (via a  token) and also be used when ordering results by distance. The ordering will require a custom field on the search screen to be easily geocoded (e.g. zip code) for it to work however.

Cool stuff Scott.
Will there also be a map for search results?
Or for all properties in a category?
And will the markers of the properties on the map have a templateable popup?

Oops - lots of ideas - let's wait for the first release ;-)

Geocoding possibility sound great. Sometime the generated latitude and longitude are not exact enough. Will it be possible to "finetune" the data or enter it manually ? Another wish: If I am on a detail page of a property I would like a list showing "properties nearby". Perphaps something like a linked "latest module" which is sorted and/or filtered by distance.
Looking forward to the new functions! Gerrit

Most definitely, you can re-search on an address typed in, and you can drag the marker around if it's not exact.

The properties near by sounds like a great idea - there are a lot of possibilities!

will be the end for my module PropertyMap?
integrate the search results to display on the map?
PropertyMap continue to be a good addition to Property Agent?
I'd like to hear your plan to abandon the PropertyMap development right now...

I believe will competition only comes with Improvement. PropertyMap has to be reinnovated to catch up with future property module.

Count on it, as long as its functionality is not offered by the future release I continue to work on improving launch propertymap.
