One of the things that I have been putting off for far too long is business cards.

So today, I opened up photoshop and produced the image below. Is there anything you would change? (I'm getting them printed tomorrow).

Another item that I struggled with is the actual title, I debated over "business owner", "president", but ended up going with "Director". What title do you have in your small business?

At the same time, I've also created some banners here:-

Are you having anything on the back? The first thing a lot of people do when receiving a business card is turn it over and have a look at the back.

Definitely go with President. No reason to be misleading. You are the company. When you hand someone a card you want them to know that. With Director they have no idea and may think you answer to someone else and are not a decision maker. My 2 cents.

I use Owner. One of my friends uses 'Director of Chalkboard Erasers'.

Anyway, I like your design. Good point about the back of the card. Mine simply has the web address.

I have several cards with different titles. President is for those that want to talk to the president. Chief Architect for technical people who want to talk techie. On the back of my cards I have a short list of what I do. It is a small advertisement.

I don't now, but when I did I went with Owner/Manager.

The back of my card was just fancy card: I thought the front did enogh advertising.

This is going to be way too late, but in the name of clear communications:
The most obvious problem with the card is that it fails to say anything about the business. You could be selling flying lions for all I can tell. Even the homepage doesn't give a clue as to what Ventrian actually does.

I haven't actually printed them yet, I was thinking of putting a slogan or something under ventrian systems.

Where would you put what we actually do?

do you really need to put a Title? :-) You are Scott, period.

The one who receives the card will know who you are.

The first task in creating a new brand is to identify what the business does and more specifically, what it does for its current (and future) customers... from their perspective. It's often hardest for the person who owns the business to gain that perspective. If you'd like some assistance with it, drop me an email robert at axford dot org and I'll run you through some short tasks to identify the Ventrian Systems brand.

I am a one man company as well and my cards have my name and that's it. No title. I use two lines to help with branding: 1) a Slogan: "We help you grow your business" and 2) a Tagline:" Services - Hardware - Technology"

Don't forget to utilize the back of the card as well. There's a whole other side there just waiting to be used. For my business cards, I make sure to put at least some info on the back, it's easy to design them at http://www.printsmadeeasy.com

Its a nice card but it look little simple. and also one more suggestion if you take background silver instead of white, it will look good. Just try it. Thanks
