I don't know if this is the right environment, but I didn't see a general discussion type topic in the forums, but I have a question about Rugby League. My only glimpse into the world of Rugby from here in the U.S. is at the mercy of Fox Sports World, which is now Fox Soccer Channel. I have been watching primarily Rugby Union (Super 12, NPC, Currie Cup, Tri-Nations), and am addicted to Rugby Union.
I have tried to watch Rugby League. I don't get it. There seems to be absolutely nothing to the game. Roll ball back, run forward, get tackled, repeat 6 times or until you score. Union, to me, is fluid and very tactical. League is not.
What am I missing? There must be more to it. I eventually came to really enjoy Aussie Rules after I realized that it wasn't just run a bit, kick a bit, and clothesline the guy jumping for the ball. Maybe I'll like League if I understand what's happening.
Anyway, that is my comment (question?) though not exactly related to the NRL Nuking. Sorry about the semi-off topicness of the reply...
