As stated earlier, I have been setting up my new dedicated server.
Here are the specifications:-
- P4 2.8ghz (dell)
- 1GB Ram
- 80GB Disk Space
The dedicated server is provided by WebSecureStores. To view more of the plans available, see here.
The best thing about a dedicated server is that you can do anything you want on the server (within reason). I plan on checking out IIS6 compression soon, has anyone had experience using it with DotNetNuke? I've been using the blowery module (as detailed here), but I am just curious on how the IIS6 compression compares.
You can now compare performance between dedicated and shared hosting, I've setup a duplicate of this site at www.ventrian.com. The page generated at XXX amount of seconds is a good guide.
Incidently, Ventrian is the name of my new business that I'll be moving into full time in exactly 1 week.
