My free work is in the core product itself, I still need a business model to pay my mortgage unfortunately. Please use this for feedback on existing products only.

I still say you're not charging enough.

I'm not a native english speaker myself and I'm not sure I understand the topic. Strange enough the english language (which easily creates new words) - has only one for 2 <> things : free for 'liberty' and free for 'no money'.

I think that Scott's work brings us much freedom, and deserves money and much more respect. A very fair model and great value for a little effort on your part, lem2405.

Moreover, if Scott succeeds with this model, then there is hope that you also can get some money with your talent - this would be encouraging for everybody.

Please find 20$ for Scott and become a member with us.

Benoit.

I'm with rhuber, for what you give, the value is beyond compare. Not to mention your contribution to DNN as a core team member.

I wonder if Lem2405 does everything for free? Could explain why he/she doesnt have much money :)

Exactly. If NewsArtciles alone were a $200 module... I would buy it. There is simply no other module (or suite of modules rather) that comes close to it in terms of insane flexibility, remarkable ease of use, and rock-solid reliability, let alone such dedicated support. Even at that, it simply wouldn't be realistic to expect it to continue to dramatically evolve the way it does... yet scott offers sizable suite of such applications for pocket change.

I really would like to see scott come up with a more expensive plan or two. Not because I feel we need more out of him, but rather because I don't want to see him go away. I don't want to swell the man's head, but the simple fact is - I'm not a great developer, yet I'm fairly well compensated for the sites I create - in no small part due to Scott. He makes me look like I really have my act together; when truth is it's not me at all... it's the tools and people I turn to from one task to the next. Scott McCulloch is way up there on that list. If Scott has to take a 9 to 5 to make ends meet... we all lose. At least that's the way I see it.

The NewsArticles module alone is worth 10 times what Scott is asking for a yearly membership for ALL of his modules.

I downloaded it before Scott went to membership & could see how awesome it was. Almost everything that I thought "gee, if only" kept appearing in the next version without my having asked.

So did I hesitate to pay when Scott moved the membership? Nope - why would I???
